Family, renewing and tax
- Family
- Guides say a spouse and children each need their own family visa (E31B for a spouse, E31E for a child).
- Renewing
- Agencies disagree on how renewing works, from one more year to applying again from scratch. It doesn't lead to permanent stay.
- Tax
- More than 183 days in 12 months. Since 9 December 2025 (PER-23/PJ/2025) a stay permit valid for more than 183 days, such as the E33G, can count as intending to stay, so you can be resident with fewer days. No official source confirms a tax exemption
Worth knowing
- December 2025: tax firms say a new rule lets a stay permit of more than 183 days make you tax resident, whatever your day count.
