Argentina digital nomad visa

Argentina's digital nomad residence has no income minimum. It lasts 180 days and can be extended once for another 180, but only passports that can visit Argentina visa-free can use it, and you apply in person in Argentina.

At a glance

The visa
Digital nomad temporary residence
What you need
No income floor
What counts as proof
No income floor. You show proof of remote work: contracts or invoices.
Who can apply
Employees of a company abroad: unclear (the rules cover remote services for people or companies abroad, and the form asks you to describe independent work, so it is unclear whether salaried employees fit). Freelancers: yes. Owners of a company abroad: unclear (the regulation does not say whether owning the company abroad counts).
How long
180 days, extendable once for another 180
Without a visa
British and American visitors: 90 days, extendable once
Passports
Only passports that can visit without a visa may apply. British and American passports can.

The catch. You apply in person at the immigration office in Argentina, and only passports that can visit visa-free qualify.

  • Proof of your address and of your lawful entry
  • The signed application form describing your work, and a short CV

Renewing
Extend once, in person at Migraciones, for another 180 days. You must have spent at least half of the first 180 days in Argentina, and you bring proof of income for your time there and a criminal record certificate from your home country.
What it leads to
Nowhere directly: it is a transitory stay. Citizenship needs two years' continuous temporary or permanent residence with no trips abroad, since 2025
