Role overview
We’re looking for a video editor who understands dynamic editing, can build engaging videos with strong retention, and selects footage based on meaning — not just aesthetics. This person should be able to independently source materials such as stock footage, references, B-roll, memes, and AI-generated visuals, and turn them into compelling short-form content.
Must-have skills
Strong understanding of dynamic editing: pacing, hooks, rhythm, and attention retention.
Ability to edit based on story and meaning, not just music or visuals.
Can independently find and select footage such as B-roll, stock, and references.
Experience with short-form content including Reels, Shorts, TikTok, and ads.
Ability to add captions/subtitles, basic motion graphics, zooms, transitions, and highlights.
Understands how to capture attention in the first 3–5 seconds.
Fast turnaround and ability to iterate based on feedback.
Nice to have: experience with AI tools for generating or sourcing visuals.
This is not for you if
You focus only on nice-looking edits without understanding the message.
You rely fully on provided materials and cannot source content independently.
You do not understand the difference between basic and dynamic editing.
You cannot explain why specific visuals were chosen.
You produce slow-paced edits with weak engagement.
You struggle with feedback or revisions.
